All About Chakras

09/11/2020

2020 has brought about a lot of insecurity and fear. TRUE FACT! However, it also brought about a sense of togetherness, a need greater than ourselves to spend time together and appreciate the relationships we have with our family and friends. We tend to appreciate light when we're walking in the dark, or long summer days and nights when the weather is cold and dark in winter. One of my favourite songs put this so clearly

"Well you only need the light when it's burning low

Only know you love her when you let her go

Only know you've been high when you're feeling low

Only hate the road when you're missing home" (Let Her Go, Passenger)

2020 also brought a rise in collective consciousness. The energies were super high and intense most of the year and people started wondering what that was all about. I met a few people who are sceptical of all the spiritual talk but they also felt this heavy energy lurking around us like a dark shadow. I have never talked of energies and chakras as much as this year. Somehow it feels that people wanted to learn more and more about what is beyond our bodies.

I always start by making a comparison between our bodies and a ripple caused by stone skipping

We have 4 types of Bodies. In Hindu tradition you'll find out that there are many more, but for the sake of this blog, I'm focusing on the simpler version.

Mental Body: It controls our thoughts, judgments, perceptions and opinions as well as our perception of ourselves and the world around us. It governs analytical thinking, focus, clarity and the ability to solve issues. It is what turns thoughts into reality, keeps us focused and moving towards our goals.

Emotional Body: It is in charge of our nervous system, hormones, our sense of touch and regulates our water absorption in the physical body *water retention / dehydration). It represents our feelings and relationships to things

Spiritual Body: Connects all 3 bodies to Source / Universe / God. It has little to do with religions or beliefs but rather that we are all connected and the union between our soul, life experience and destiny.

The word chakra (pronounced sha-kra) is derived from the Sanskrit word meaning wheel or circle.

Chakra are energy centres which have their own unique vibration and colour. As a Chakra Healing practitioner, my aim always is to bring the chakras back in balance which also means clearing the emotions and traumas stuck at various stages of our lives. With the help of my pendulum and my third eye, I scan the body for imbalances. The chakras of a client who is not feeling well physically tend to appear blocked. As a client once told me, having her chakras balanced felt like clearing the fog and she could start breathing again in a metaphorical way.

Chakras are found in the Spiritual Body however when we study them, we look at them as if they are placed along our spine. There are 7 main chakras however if you study acupuncture you'll realise that there are almost over 300 mini chakras located all over our 4 Bodies.

The 7 main chakras are as follows. (Download the freebie 7 main chakras for more information)

Chakra Healing is not only for individuals. I use chakra healing on couples as well.

I start by clearing the individuals' chakras and then work with their relationship's chakras also using John Gottman PhD, identified seven principles for a successful relationship:

  1. Enhancing Love Maps
  2. Nurturing Fondness and Admiration
  3. Turning Toward Each Other
  4. Accepting Influence
  5. Solving Solvable Problems
  6. Overcoming Gridlock
  7. Creating Shared Meaning

In my opinion, each principle coincides with each of the 7 chakras.

The foundation for a healthy relationship is having a deep friendship with your partner, creating roots and memories together. It is the most nurturing of feelings. It creates a sense of belonging. Clearing this chakra means that energetically and spiritually speaking, the couple now has no blocks between them and feel free in each other's presence and silence.

Whilst dowsing and clearing the relationship chakras, I also tap on situations which might need more healing and communication. Just as clearing the Throat chakra makes way for the client to feel free to speak their truth, same applies for a couple who have not dealt with a past hurt or something still left unsaid. By clearing this chakra I open a way for honest communication and deep healing on an energetic level.

I firmly believe that every relationship, every energetic bond we create with someone has its own set of chakras or energy centres. Healing a relationship on an energetic level helps us release negative ties, let bygones be bygones or if the relationship is worthy, then dig deep to remove the debris and rebuild the path. After all we all aim to live a life free from worry and anger, are grateful for our many blessings, kind to one another and work honestly for what we deserve.
