7 things I'm giving up to remain sane in 2019... coming soon

I am not one for New Year's Resolutions and I do not particularly subscribe to diets beginning on Mondays or January 2nd. Instead I will be working on giving up the following:

1. Giving up on toxic people.
It is impossible to succeed with negative people around you. However, it is impossible to eliminate their vibe completely. We will discover ways of how to zone out their toxicity and help you regain your composure. Being assertive is key.

2. Give up the need to be LIKED
Let's face it, popularity comes at a price. Celebrities have annoying paparazzi following them constantly (they also have make up artists, hairdressers, nannies, chefs, personal instructors and other annoying perks) Do you like yourself all the time? I don't! I'm real. But that very fact is my motivation to improve. You will always find someone who disapproves of something or everything that you do. Move on, sister, make space for self-approval instead!

3. Give up the need to control everything

Please understand that only some things are up to us, most things aren't

4. Give up the need to be perfect
Lately I watched a Gary Vee instagram video related to this topic. In it he discussed how we hide behind the term perfectionism to cover up our insecurities and lack of self confidence.
It hit a nerve. I used to think I'm a perfectionist and a control freak. 2018 was a wake up call that attitude was causing me more distress and loss of sleep and money than success... a BADITUDE! You are ENOUGH, we can always improve but Perfect is an unrealistic goal. Keep it real!

5. Give up on believing in overnight success.
The world was not built in 7 days. It takes hard work, mistakes, learning, consistency and persistence. And even if you think that you arrived at your destination, you will notice that your bearings might have changed a little and you need to keep working some more. That's the beauty of giving up on perfectionism... you can discover your free spirit side and ride the wave

6. Give up on small play
Play & Dream Big... Think Big - You are so worth it

7. Give up the unhealthy lifestyle.
Yes, I'm talking the food that lands on your hips and would not shake off even if you dance Shakira style for 365 days non-stop. Your body is your temple. It takes you from A-Z, honour it, nourish it, it's the only one you get in this lifetime.
